Give a band a little success and suddenly its members are posing next to buffet tables of wine and roast pig. In the case of The Pleasure and the Greed, the excesses of the album cover art hint at things to come--the disc is louder, raunchier, and grungier than Big Wreck's 1997 debut, In Loving Memory of... (which unleashed "The Oaf" onto Billboard's Top 10). Canyon-filling electric guitars and misty-mountain acoustic textures top thunderous rhythms, while vocalist and chief songwriter Ian Thornley's hairy-chested bellowings turn even the most innocuous melody into a Viking battle cry.

Five Man Acoustical Jam was a live album released in 1990 by the band Tesla, using acoustic guitars instead of electric guitars which hard rock/heavy metal bands such as Tesla were known for. The biggest hit from the album was the song "Signs", a cover version originally from the band Five Man Electrical Band, who also had a hit with the song. Other songs included "Love Song" (a hit from their previous album The Great Radio Controversy) and covers of The Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper", Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lodi", and The Beatles' "We Can Work It Out". It was recorded live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Trocadero Theatre.

"I'm gonna sing mostly new songs tonight" Neil Young tells the rapt Massey Hall audience, "...I've written so many new ones that I can't think of anything else to do with them other than sing 'em." He steps to the mic unadorned, distant from CSNY's rippled harmonies or Crazy Horse's yowl, hypnotically nailing 17 tracks on this unreleased 1971 solo set. You hear him tower at vocal heights on the chorus for "Old Man" (then a debuted, brand-new song) and name-check Canada on "Journey to the Past" and North Ontario on "Helpless," much to the Toronto crowd's delight. The sound is impeccable, and the closeness to Young in this spare setting exhilarates--especially his vocal quavering in the high registers, his intricate guitar work, and an overall vibe that exceeds description.

One of the greatest singer-songwriters of the rock era. Solo. Acoustic. January 19, 1971. Live At Massey Hall, the legendary concert from Neil Young, is finally officially released, and in highresolution stereo. The acclaimed Toronto performance features classics "Old Man" and, in a suite, "A Man Needs A Maid" and "Heart Of Gold" (before they were recorded for Harvest) along with some of his most popular songs ("Cowgirl In The Sand," "Ohio") as well as the most obscure ("Bad Fog Of Loneliness"). Live At Massey Hall is a newly mined rock gem.

High-wattage Rock n' Roll

A long, sometimes tortuous, and always interesting history. They have survived for 23 years a certain indifference of the public, to the harsh conditions of the recording industry and the scourge of drugs. His career was twisted to the point that, after his debut in 1989, their fans had to wait until the year 2000 in order to listen to their second album.

Second album from the band led by Hellacopters guitarist Robert "Strings" Dahlqvist together with productor Mattias Barjed (guitarist from Soundtrack of Our Lives) first set out to create something that would sound a bit like Fleetwood Mac or Rolling Stone, but which of course turned out to sound completely different, mainly inspired by Robert's and Mattias' common guitar gods from the seventies.

There are enough cowboy hats, beards and fringed jackets adorning Antler's songs that It would be easy to mistake this Boston band for one that lives in the same area code as the Allman Brothers or Skynyrd.

"Stumbling somewhere between Bob Seger and Nick Cave, ANTLER provide the perfect soundtrack for black outs, bad news, break ups and breakdowns."
- CMJ Guide

"Behind The Key -Take it down. Way Down. Time for a tear and a beer. Dim the lights and raise the lighters for Dave Unger's sensitive keyboard intro. Not to be out done, Ian's lengthy guitar solo is absolutely amazing. I personally think it's the best he's ever recorded. And that slick mother fucker did it in one take with half a Marlboro hanging outta his mouth like the stoned ghost of Joe Perry."

Cry Of Love was a great 90's band that played blues hard rock and would have fit in perfectly with the 70's music scene. Cry Of Love was formed in Raleigh, North Carolina by Kelly Holland (vocals), Audley Freed (guitar), Robert Kearns (bass) and Jason Patterson (drums). Freed's wonderful guitar playing and the surprise rock radio success of singles "Bad Thing", "Peace Pipe" and "Too Cold In The Winter" made the debut album a surprise success in an era where grunge and Black Sabbath type riffs reigned supreme, and was the soundtrack for an extensive year-and-a-half tour, opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Paul Rodgers, Bad Company, ZZ Top and playing in Europe as support for Robert Plant.

The band is fronted by Daniel Davies, son of founding The Kinks member Dave Davies; bass player Rich Mullins, who toured with popular hard rock band Karma To Burn; and drummer Brad Hargreaves, who hails from eight-time platinum-selling group Third Eye Blind.

Year Long Disaster play raw, Seventies-style rock with exotic song titles: "Per Qualche Dollaro In Piu" takes its name from Davies' Italian poster for Clint Eastwood's For a Few Dollars More, and "Leda Atomica" is the title of a Salvador Dali painting.

7 song taste of music that was recorded live in the studio and features recordings of TESLA’s own songs in a different fashion as well as a few covers that we love. Set to be released for the Holiday season, there is a recording of the Christmas classic “Silent night” and alternate recordings of TESLA classics.

I LOVE YOU (climax blues band)
This track was the first song that Tesla recorded in the studio together when reuniting in 2000 after the 5 year break-up. JK asked the band to record this song to be played at his wedding.

EVERYTHING I OWN (Bread)
Another beautiful love song, this song really showcases JK’s vocal ability and TESLA’S ability to “own” a classic cover. Transposed using a capo and teslafied during the guitar solo, this track captures TESLA chemistry.

SIGNS
This is a very raunchy version of our top 10 hit recorded “live” in the studio with a little more grit and attitude than the 5 man “acoustic” version.

THE WAY IT IS
We recorded this version in the studio after coming home from the Canadian “acoustic” tour. It is a stripped down version and we opted to sing it a bit lower to make it more soulful and played the guitar parts with a softer touch.

WHAT YOU GIVE
Not much to say about this track except it is one of our favorite songs we’ve written and our fans seem to love it as much if not more today than ever. This recording is a Hybrid version of acoustic and electric complete with the guitar solo being played acoustically and the twangy country licks complementing JK’s soulful lyrics.

I’D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD (ten years after)
A Great song! This track was originally considered for the “REAL TO REEL” set list but somehow got left behind. This is a “live” demo version recorded in the studio and we wanted to convey a fierce “Guitar” battle between Frank and Tommy. There is a lot of aggression in the music and JK put some serious vibes in the vocals.

SILENT NIGHT (ACOUSTIC SOLO)
This recording is an acoustic arrangement put together by Frank Hannon as a bonus track for the EP’s release in December for Christmas. The melody is beautiful and is reminiscent of TESLA’s “LOVE SONG” intro with classical guitar lines and finger picking. To add to the arrangement, there are Dobro slide parts and a Mandolin outro added to enhance the holiday spirit. Enjoy!
